Experiencing Bisbee, Arizona

Tom and I got a brief introduction to Bisbee when we visited Southern Arizona two years ago but we didn’t have enough time to really experience it. So, we decided to spend a night right in town where we could walk the streets and even tour the famous Queen Mine.

Camping in Bisbee

We booked a night at the Queen Mine RV Park. It’s the only RV park in Historic Bisbee and is located near the entrance to the Queen Mine. The RV park sits on a bluff overlooking Historic Bisbee and it’s only a 5 minute walk down a staircase and under the highway to town. The RV park is relatively small without much space between sites but it offers full hookups, a restroom and even a little dog walk. It’s a perfect location for exploring Historic Bisbee!

Exploring Bisbee

Right after checking into the RV park, I walked down the hill to the Queen Mine and was able to book a mine tour for that afternoon.

Tom and I donned our hard hats, safety vests, and miner’s lamps then climbed aboard an original mine train. We rode the train 1500 feet into the mine where our fabulous tour guide led us through tunnels and up staircases as he shared inside information from his years working in the mine.

Above ground, on the hilly streets of Bisbee, we explored shops, bars, and restaurants… and walked a lot of stairs!
