Fiordland National Park was our farthest destination on New Zealand's South Island before making our way back north. We had a long drive to Cromwell, where we had one night reserved at a vacation rental, after our night camping in the Park. But for now, we were here to explore Fiordland National Park!
Driving from Fiordland National Park to Cromwell
It was about 3pm when we left Fiordland National Park and we still had a four hour drive to Cromwell. We enjoyed the views along the way but didn't stop to eat until we reached Cromwell. Our tents were still damp from our previous night of camping but we were furtunate to have a little sunshine and some handrails to hang them on. While the tents dried, we indulged in a delicious mexican dinner at Amigos. Mary Kay and I were so full from overindulging that we chose to walk the 20 minutes back to our rental while Sierra and Kyle drove.
Before leaving Cromewell the following morning, we picked up fresh fruit and scones at Jackson Orchards fruit stand. Yum!
