After leaving Austin with what was left of our Texas Donut, we continued our drive north on Interstate 35 toward Oklahoma.

Aly’s Tour of Dog Parks

When we pulled in for gas at a Loves Travel Stop in Troy, Texas, Aly was happy to see they have a fenced dog park. Unfortunately there were no other dogs to play with but it was enough to sustain her until we reached the Canyon Falls Dog Park north of Fort Worth. She was excited to meet another energetic pup her age with plenty of room to run at this beautiful dog park.

Welcome to Oklahoma

Aly was wiped out as we continued our drive north from the dog park but she perked up when we approached the Oklahoma State LIne… just in time to help Tom navigate to the Winstar Resort and Casino.

Winstar Resort and Casino

By the time we crossed into Oklahoma, the sugar buzz from our Texas donut had worn off and we were getting hungry. Thanks to a tip from our family in Austin, we decided to stop for dinner at the Winstar Resort and Casino. Winstar is the largest casino in the world with more than 600,000 sq ft (55,741 sq m) of space. After indulging in the huge Las Vegas-style buffet, we returned to our camper at the Fun Town RV Park to sleep off our food-induced comas.

The Fun Town RV Park is part of the Winstar resort property and offers a free shuttle between the RV park and the casino. And, by signing up for the Winstar Passport (free membership club) they gave us our first night at the RV park for free. The RV park is very nice with spacious sites, a swimming pool, playground, laundry, and shower facilities. A paved walkway around the perimeter of the park includes a “Pet Relief Area”. The pet area isn’t fenced but does have bags and disposal baskets.

We woke to a beautiful sunrise and enjoyed a healthy protein shake and big chunk of Texas donut, before hitting the road again!
